💰 Crypto
This week, the charts are red, apart from some nice little performances like $LUNA which is up nearly 22% this week, and $APE (Bored Ape Yacht Club's token) up by 54%!
🔘 Binance has burned more than $770 million in $BNB during its 19th burn.
🔘 Robinhood is buying UK-based crypto app Ziglu to strengthen its presence in Europe. Through Ziglu, UK customers can buy and sell 11 cryptocurrencies and earn returns on them.
🔘 WonderFi buys Coinberry, a cryptocurrency exchange, for $38.5 million. This is the 2nd Canadian cryptocurrency exchange purchased by WonderFi this year. WonderFi now owns 33% of all exchanges in Canada.
🔘 Solana staking generates about $2.1 billion in rewards per year. Liquid staking protocols currently capture only about 3% of that, so there is clearly an opportunity for growth. Marinade has a 57% market share, Lido 29%, and the others share 14%.
🔘 Blockchain.com, the cryptocurrency wallet and exchange service, is looking to go public as early as this year and is in talks with banks.
🔘 The Ethereum Foundation reveals that 80% of its $1.6 billion treasury is held in ETH.
🔘 The U.S. Treasury Department sanctions BTC mining in Russia.
🔘 Binance blocks Russian users due to European Union sanctions.
🔘 The Curve-based 4pool is now live on the Fantom network. It will be tested on the Fantom and Arbitrum networks before being deployed on Ethereum. The pool is currently paying daily returns of nearly 0.5%.
🔘 Near's largest decentralized finance protocol, Bastion, launches its own token. The $BSTN token trades on the decentralized exchange Trisolaris. Bastion is a lending, borrowing and trading protocol that launched in March as a fork of the popular Ethereum-based Compound protocol.
👩🏻🎤 NFTs & Metaverse
🔘 ApeCoin $APE hit a high last week. Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini recently listed the token on Gemini Earn, its lending program. Yuga Labs' Otherside metaverse project is reportedly gearing up for a land sale, with a floor price of $APE 600.
🔘 The total capitalization of the NFT market is estimated at approximately $20 billion and has continued to grow even as volumes have declined.
🔘 Air Europa is launching the first NFT airline tickets, which will allow you to travel from Madrid to Miami and attend exclusive events during Miami Art Week.
🔘 Coinbase has launched the beta version of its NFT marketplace to a waiting list of 3 million users. In the coming weeks, Coinbase plans to add drops, private communities, and the ability to purchase NFTs with a credit card.
🔘 Hyundai launches its collection of 30 NFTs in partnership with MetaKongz.
🔘 Luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton continues its experimentation with NFTs with the introduction of NFT rewards in its mobile app game "Louis: The Game". Luxury and fashion brands are increasingly experimenting with NFTs and blockchain games, hoping to attract Generation Z consumers, a group with an estimated $140 billion in purchasing power.
🔘 The NBA introduces The Association, a collection of 18k NFTs whose features will change based on the players' stats during the Playoff phases. A total of 75 editions of 240 players for 16 different teams will be available for basketball fans to trade.
🔘 Chainlink's Dynamic NFTs (dNFTs) are NFTs that can change based on any on-chain or off-chain event. This opens up a wide range of possibilities, for example, they could be used to track athletes' statistics.
